Many oils available commercially contain an abundance of artificial ingredients with only a trace of the good, natural ingredients that actually nourish the skin. Mineral oil is found in many so-called natural products, but is actually a petroleum product­while technically natural, it is polluted, does not absorb well and dries out the skin. (And it is often found in baby care products!) At Earthworm, we use only the purest ingredients for our body oils. Cold pressed imported olive oil is the main ingredient in our massage and bath oils because of its excellent traditional healing properties. Olive oil was originally used to anoint sacred temples. It soothes dry skin, rashes, burns and abrasions and is an excellent moisturizer. Almond oil is a soothing and nourishing oil, rich in vitamins and often used as a base in quality skin oils creams. Soybean oil is a light, natural vegetable oil which is an excellent lubricant. Castor oil is from the ancient castor plant, native to India, and helps soften and soothe the skin and remove toxins. Lots of Vitamin E is added to act both as nourishment to the skin and as a natural preservative. All our massage and bath oils are scented with pure botanical oils­absolutely nothing synthetic.
